About Sita

A Florida native, Sita made her home in Atlanta, Georgia and the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico before settling in Virginia. She graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with an MFA in creative writing. Her work has been published with Transmundane Press, Third Flatiron, BWG Roundtable, and Green Briar Review. She’s a member of Women’s Fiction Writers Association. In 2018, her short story, Into Xibalba, was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Before writing full time, Sita worked in women’s health for 15 years, taught childbirth classes, and attended hundreds of births.

Her debut novel, Words We Cannot Say (April 2022), is out now with Red Adept Publishing. Her debut memoir, Vanishing Shoals (July 2022), is out now with with L10 Press Unzipped.
